The new 80 watt USA portable is perfect for single battery RV with an LP (propane) two way fridge, which runs on 120v or LP. Most people don't realize that even when the fridge is on LP it still uses about 1 amp of 12v to monitor the system, light the pilot etc. So that leaves you about 4 amps per hour of charging power to the battery. The water heater also uses 12v while on LP, add the water pump a few times, LED lights and charging of tablets or cell phones. The 80 watt will still handle it.
If you have an inverter or two batteries, then I would consider stepping up to the 120 watt portable at a little over 7 amps per hour being produced.
Every campers needs and power consumption's are a little different, so just because some brochure says this one is for a single battery, and this one is best for 4 batteries, don't believe it for a second.
We will help determine what you need if your not sure, simply call 520-261-2950, email sales@offthegridrvs.com or catch us on live chat 7 days a week.
We specialize in Zamp solar, and live off the grid via solar, we're not just another dealer trying to up sell you, or see you something that's not going to work for you.
If your RV came pre-wired with a Zamp Solar port on the sidewall, back or front, it's wired for a Zamp portable solar kit. Every one of the portable kits will have detachable alligator clips. When you unplug them, you're left with the male plug that fits your new RV and Zamp solar port. Simply plug it in, set your battery type, and enjoy the silence while your living off the grid.
